1. Has there ever been a time in your life when the circumstances all seemed to point to something God wanted you to do.?
2. Has there ever been a time when you faced great financial need that God delivered?
3. Who is the one procuring the redemption of Ruth? What does Ruth do to secure her redemption by Boaz in this chapter?
4. What did Boaz has to gain by marrying Ruth? What did Ruth have to offer Boaz in return for his redeeming her?
5. What did this marriage cost Ruth? Naomi?
6. What does it say to Ruth that the one closest to her did not want to redeem her? Have you ever not been picked to be on a team, or been the last to be picked? How did you feel? a. They don’t know what they are missing b. I guess I really am no good c. Just wait until I grow up and then I will show them d. other
7. What happened to the women in Bethlehem as they saw Ruth give birth to a son? Consider 4:14-15. What can be learned from their response?
8. Look closely at Ruth 4:14-15. Who does the Scripture indicate is Naomi’s kinsman redeemer? Is it really Boaz or is something else happening here?
9. Look carefully at 4:21 and compare it with Matthew 1:5 What do you think may have encouraged Boaz to agree to marry this Moabite widow? (Hint: Who was Boaz’ mother?)
10. Do you remember how it was that the Moabite got into the family of the faithful? Remember Romans 7:1-6. Now see if you can remember how it was that you got in the family of the faithful as well?
11. The Genealogy of Ruth Chapter four contains a great message for all to hear. What can be learned from such a genealogy? a. God has control over every part of human history b. Every person that is born in this world possesses great potential to be used of God to accomplish His will c. There are no insignificant births d. all the above and even more
