1. Have you ever not been picked to play on a team, or been the last one picked?
2. Why do you think Saul sent so many men home when he was going to be so outnumbered by the Philistines?
3. Have you ever been in a place where you were outnumbered? How did you feel?
4. Read Proverbs 28:1 and then I Samuel 13:6-7. What do you think caused these men to be so timid? a. They did not have their Vitamins b. They could see a bad deal c. They did not really care for God’s reputation d. They did not know God e. other Where have you been hard pressed lately? Where have you been tempted to give up and go home?
6. Saul did not wait for Samuel and took things into his own hands. When are you most tempted to take things into your own hands? What can you learn from this example of Saul’s?
7. Is their anytime in your recent past when you thought God was late in meeting a need? How did you deal with the lateness of God?
8. Israel had been disarmed by the Philistines so they lost their courage to fight. How do you think the enemy today seeks to disarm God’s people? What can you do to take steps to keep your weaponry fit and ready?
