I’m a 27 years old graduate of SIUC (B.S. Electronics Systems Technologies), I was brought up in the south side of Chicago and I had a Catholic upbringing and an ethnic Croatian background. Immediately after high school I enlisted for five years in the United Stated Marine Corps; where, I went on two tours oversees (Iraq). I started to realize God calling me to Himself around the summer I got honorably discharged from service. It was the first time I saw my own depravity and that my life was empty and void of any lasting joy. I was drowning further into substance abuse (and other hurtful dependencies), depression, and the thought of suicide became more reoccurring. I even got into a toxic relationship that ended with a divorce under my belt. Once God revealed Himself to me my life had meaning (to glorify Him), my dependence became more centered on His Word, and Christ became my everlasting joy and motivation.
Here at Lakeland Baptist Church, I had the opportunity presented to me to use the gifts that were entrusted to me to participate in the work of Christ by sharing the Gospel to the students on campus, as well as, fellowship with the college men at Lakeland as we encourage each other to walk deeper with Christ and His Church."
